Estimator - Commercial Construction

Description

• Thoroughly study plans and specifications and visit sites as necessary to confirm all project requirements
• Organize and lead bid teams for larger projects, providing direction and guidance to junior estimators
• Provide detailed and accurate estimates with accompanying supporting documents to include all necessary takeoffs and vendor quotes
• Establish and maintain relationships with the local subcontractor community and maintain an active database of subcontractors
• Coordinate with Project Development Managers, clients, and design teams as needed to deliver accurate estimates through the various stages of preconstruction
• Schedule and manage multiple estimates, coordinating with Project Development team as necessary to confirm delivery schedules are clearly understood
• Prequalify new subcontractors as required to provide good sub coverage and quality estimates for regional (out-of-town) projects

Requirements

• Ability to communicate with Landmark preconstruction team, customers, designers, and vendors clearly and effectively
• Knowledge of cost of materials, trades, building types, and systems, as well as general conditions, overhead, and profit
• Knowledge of basic construction scheduling and critical path schedule drivers.
• Working knowledge of CSI divisions and how construction projects are priced and bought out
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• In-depth understanding of construction types, methods, materials, and building systems
• Bachelor’s Degree in related curriculum or equivalent work experience
• Proven track record with previous project list including client/design team information
• 10+ years of experience as a commercial construction Estimator preferred
• Proficiency with computer spreadsheets (Excel) and ability to learn new estimating software.
