Director of Interconnection Services

Description

• Lead, mentor, and empower a diverse team of engineers and managers, fostering excellence, accountability, and innovation.
• Coach staff on technical and client‑facing skills to enhance internal capability.
• Improve delivery frameworks, QA/QC processes, and promote cross‑collaboration for scalable growth.
• Serve as trusted advisor to generators and large developers navigating ERCOT’s interconnection landscape.
• Translate complex technical issues into clear, actionable insights that accelerate client decisions.
• Engage stakeholders to gather input and make informed recommendations amid ambiguity.
• Review interconnection studies and identify creative pathways to remove roadblocks and expedite projects.
• Partner with senior leadership to shape and execute EPE’s growth strategy across ERCOT and beyond.
• Identify and pursue new service lines and products.
• Lead proposal and RFP development efforts.
• Contribute thought leadership through conferences, technical papers, and industry forums.
• Drive development of internal tools and analytics to strengthen market position.
• Connect technical depth with commercial strategy.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams across functions and geographies.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years in the electric energy industry, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Communicate exceptionally to influence, align, and decide under uncertainty.
• Strong understanding of ERCOT and TSP interconnection requirements and standards.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Direct experience at a utility within the ERCOT footprint or as a consultant for such entities.
• Experience in IBR modelling or load modelling.
• Working knowledge of power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, TARA, PSCAD, PSLF, PowerWorld).
• Remote‑eligible position for US or Canada with occasional travel (≤10%).
