As a Portfolio Manager, you’ll lead a team of professionals and paraprofessionals responsible for the preparation and delivery of internally managed works across Ausgrid’s network. You’ll play a key role in operational planning, team development, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.
- Contributing to investigations and providing recommendations to improve operations.
- Lead a high-performing team delivering capital works, maintenance, and fault response across Ausgrid’s network.
- Providing effective leadership, coaching, and performance management to build a high-performing team.
- Managing stakeholder relationships, including resolution of complaints and community engagement.
- Supporting technical excellence and accreditation through a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ensuring compliance with Ausgrid’s safety, environmental, and quality policies.
- Allocating work schedules to support fault response, maintenance, and capital works.
- Managing projects against agreed budgets and timeframes.
- Overseeing the preparation and execution of works to optimise resource utilisation and meet program targets.
- Monitoring safety and delivery performance, identifying issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Leading change initiatives aligned with corporate and business objectives.

- Proven leadership experience managing complex workgroups and fostering a productive team culture.
- Strong project and time management skills.
- Current Electrical Safety Rules accreditation and Class C Driver’s Licence.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Additional qualifications in business or leadership.
- High attention to detail, discretion, and ability to manage sensitive matters.
- Degree or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Ability to manage contracts and service providers.
- Intermediate computer literacy in Microsoft Office and relevant systems.
- Extensive knowledge of construction and maintenance practices for electrical mains and substations.
- Proficiency in reading and preparing electrical system diagrams, schematics, and technical sketches.
- Familiarity with Ausgrid’s network standards and DNSP communication systems.
