The Shift Supervisor is accountable for safety, uptime, quality, waste, production rate, and cost performance of the assigned asset. The role leads a team to follow job safety analyses, standard operating procedures, 6S principles, and other systems, while driving risk assessments, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure employee safety by actively leading safety activities, communicating expectations, and conducting risk assessments.
- Investigate equipment stoppages caused by safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Lead pre‑shift, department, and change‑management meetings focused on safety and operations.
- Perform incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and timely implementation of corrective measures.
- Train, develop, and coach assigned team members, providing clear goals and regular performance feedback.
- Apply ISO procedures, control charts, CpK, and SPC tools to monitor and improve product quality.
- Develop and maintain operational procedures that meet customer quality standards and specifications.
- Prepare, analyze, and present production, downtime, and performance reports to drive continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and communicate customer specification changes across the organization.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, logistics, process, and operations.
- Conduct safety, product, process, and compliance audits; manage certifications and re‑certifications.
- Communicate effectively with internal customers, peers, and management to resolve problems and enhance team capabilities.
- Provide shift supervisor with relevant performance data, conflict‑resolution insights, and training needs.
- Assist operators in troubleshooting and refer recurring issues to the Process Engineer for root‑cause solutions.
- Train other employees as needed and perform other assigned duties.
- Work rotating 12‑hour shifts and operate powered industrial trucks with a forklift license.
- Maintain 20/20 corrected vision for color matching and read charts and indicators.

Candidates must have at least a high‑school diploma or GED, with technical or associate degrees preferred, and 3‑5 years of manufacturing experience. Preferred credentials include a Six Sigma Green Belt, OSHA 30‑hour certification, and prior supervisory experience. Core competencies include teamwork, leadership, initiative, credibility, continuous improvement, clear communication, results orientation, and analytical problem solving.
The position requires rotating 12‑hour shifts, the ability to lift 35 lb repeatedly (up to 50 lb occasionally), and a forklift license to operate powered industrial trucks. Employees must navigate climbing, bending, crawling, and working near fast‑moving machinery in environments that may be hot, cold, noisy, or expose them to chemicals, tight spaces, and heights.
- Hold a high‑school diploma or GED; technical or associate degree preferred.
- Possess 3–5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Preferred certifications: Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) and OSHA 30‑hour.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Windows.
- Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
- Able to lift 35 lb repeatedly and 50 lb occasionally; climb, bend, stoop, crawl, and ascend/descend stairs near fast machinery.
- Operate safely in environments with variable temperature, noise >90 dB, chemicals, tight spaces, heights, and moving machinery.
