The Field Technician role involves on‑site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and systems, ensuring functionality and reliability of diverse technologies. The technician conducts site surveys, configures hardware and software, tests systems, and provides technical support while adhering to safety plans, quality standards, and project timelines.
- Execute on‑site installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of electronic and IT equipment.
- Conduct site surveys, configure hardware/software, and test systems for proper operation.
- Follow project safety plans (JHA, AHA, PFW) and enforce company handbook policies.
- Review design documentation, interpret drawings, and assess constructability.
- Track project metrics, attend weekly resource allocation meetings, and verify timesheet charges.
- Document installation and maintenance activities and maintain detailed records.
- Manage tools inventory, perform inspections, and coordinate material ordering and receipt.
- Lead daily ORM meetings, ensure safety compliance, and complete accident/incident reports.
- Participate in PITCO plan creation, execution, and high‑quality testing/installation.
- Install raceways, cabling, equipment racks, enclosures, panels, and terminate/network devices.
- Configure base switches, servers, workstations, and troubleshoot programmable components.
- Perform quality control inspections, record findings, and ensure compliance with QC plans.
- Lead commissioning efforts, track activities, and represent M.C. Dean in client and design meetings.
- Mentor crew members, provide feedback, and promote strategic thinking and innovation.

The position requires the physical ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lb, work at heights up to 60 ft using ladders, scaffolds, or aerial lifts, and perform repetitive motions such as walking, climbing, squatting, and reaching. Good vision, color perception, and clear English communication are also required.
- Active Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
- High school diploma/GED plus Military Electronics Training (≥720 hrs) or accredited Electronics Technician/Electrical Apprenticeship graduation.
- Minimum 6 years of electronics installation and maintenance experience on multiple systems.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and manage time to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint (plus).
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; may require company vehicle use.
- Preferred vendor certifications: IDS, ACS, CCTV (e.g., CCURE, Lenel, Bosch, AIphone, etc.).
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lb, work at heights up to 60 ft, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
