The technician will deliver both planned and reactive maintenance, covering electrical, mechanical, and general repairs within student residences, while adhering to health and safety standards and service level agreements.
- Perform safe residential maintenance and report health‑and‑safety hazards.
- Provide reactive maintenance per Service Level Agreement and front‑line fabric response.
- Execute planned preventative maintenance and liaise with specialist sub‑contractors.
- Record breakdowns, repairs, and statutory compliance accurately.
- Carry out statutory testing (PAT, fire alarm, etc.).
- Manage electrical stock (ordering, storage, distribution) to meet SLA timelines.
- Assist colleagues in other trades and share cross‑trade skills such as painting and joinery.

Candidates must be fully qualified electricians (e.g., City & Guilds 236/2360/2365/2000/2330/2397, EAL, or equivalent) and have experience in a similar residential environment, along with strong communication, IT, and organisational skills.
- Hold a full electrician qualification (City & Guilds 236 series, EAL Level 2/3, or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
- Experience in a similar residential or campus maintenance role.

- General maintenance abilities including painting, joinery and building repairs.
- Good knowledge of operational procedures, safe working practices and health‑safety regulations.
- Willingness to work additional hours during peak student arrival and departure periods.
