As a Lead Field Service & Technical Advising Specialist for Steam Turbines, you will be responsible for planning and executing steam turbine outages for both owned fleets and other OEM fleets using the SQDC (Safety-Quality-Delivery-Cost) framework. You will engage with vendors and customers to coordinate outage plans, analyze technical problems encountered by thermal power utilities, and provide effective solutions in partnership with Core Service Engineering. Additionally, you will manage installations at retrofit sites and develop method statements, risk assessments, field procedures, and other technical documentation to support the outages.
In the role you will act as the Site Lead/Technical Lead for assigned outages, addressing all technical and safety matters, maintaining the customer relationship throughout the outage, and driving issue resolution within the schedule. You will align cross‑functional teams—including Engineering, Sourcing, Project Management, Safety, and Quality—to achieve outage KPIs and customer satisfaction, while ensuring compliance with company standards, laws, and regulations. Regular rigor in site DMS, adherence to business tools, and following Field Service Management processes for upgrades, retrofits, and end‑to‑end outages are essential. You will also use data analysis to support recommendations, capture and implement best practices, and drive lessons‑learned initiatives with tangible outcomes.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) and significant experience in large steam turbine outage execution, preferably on units of 100 MW or larger. Candidates should have at least 10 years of on‑site field experience with 3‑4 years in a lead TFA or site manager capacity, strong observational and analytical abilities, a sense of urgency, systematic problem‑solving skills, and solid interpersonal, leadership, oral, and written communication skills.
