Reporting to the Subcontracts Manager, the Subcontracts Team Lead oversees subcontract administration for a large‑scale rail transit construction project in Canada. The role provides day‑to‑day guidance to subcontract coordinators, ensures compliance with contract requirements, and collaborates closely with project controls, construction, and engineering teams to support successful delivery.
The position is responsible for managing multiple subcontract packages covering civil works, track, systems, utilities, stations, and specialty trades. It includes coordinating subcontracts, notices to proceed, amendments, and change orders, as well as tracking values, insurance, bonds, and compliance documentation through to closeout.
Strong construction subcontracting knowledge, leadership ability, high attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication are required. Candidates must also demonstrate problem‑solving skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and proficiency with contract management systems, project controls tools, and Microsoft Office.
Work is performed in a fast‑paced construction environment with a mix of on‑site and office responsibilities, occasional travel between sites, and a total compensation package of $100k‑$135k plus benefits, vacation, sick pay, training, and RSP matching.
