Tax Manager

Description

• Lead and manage tax compliance engagements within firm standards, budgets, and deadlines.
• Plan and schedule tax engagements with clients and firm resources.
• Serve as the main tax point of contact for clients.
• Ensure proactive communication and timely service to clients.
• Perform detailed reviews of tax work papers and provision calculations.
• Review tax returns, research, communications, and other deliverables.
• Communicate project status, service opportunities, and significant matters to clients and partners.
• Provide training, direction, and supervision to staff and senior accountants.
• Participate in and lead firm initiatives and projects.
• Maintain technical expertise in industry‑specific tax areas.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent education/experience.
• CPA certification in the practicing state.
• Minimum 5 years of public accounting tax experience.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
• Analytical skills to recommend solutions.
• Ability to become technically competent in industry‑specific tax and accounting matters.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Caseware, depreciation software, ProSystems, RIA, and IDEA.
