Tasks

This position offers an opportunity to work on high-performance building projects that drive decarbonization, improve energy efficiency, and extend the life of existing assets. You’ll lead mechanical design and project delivery for a range of building renewal and retrofit projects, coordinating closely with internal design and construction teams. -Maintain excellent communication and client service throughout all project phases. -Perform conceptual and detailed design for mechanical building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. -Oversee project delivery, contract administration, and documentation. -Conduct field reviews and provide support through construction, ensuring design intent is met. -Lead multiple mechanical renewal projects within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team. -Support sustainability and energy efficiency goals across all project types. -Prepare load calculations using standard HVAC analysis tools. -Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal best practices and technical standards.

What You Bring

The successful candidate will be a motivated professional who enjoys both the technical and client-facing aspects of project delivery — from concept through completion. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. -4+ years of local mechanical design experience in building systems. -Strong understanding of BC Building Code, National Building Code, and BC Plumbing Code. -Familiarity with building energy modeling tools (IES VE, RETScreen, etc.) considered an asset. -Registered or eligible for registration with EGBC as a P.Eng. -Proven background in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design. -Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and maintain client satisfaction. -Experience with Revit or AutoCAD (preferred).
