The senior engineer for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) within the EIIC functional excellence team will drive engineering governing processes for part release, part health, and other PLM policies. This role leads process‑standardization projects by coordinating PLM steering teams across businesses and cross‑functional groups such as SCM, Operations, and IT, translating engineering needs into PLM software functionalities.
The position focuses on establishing health dashboards and coordinating improvement projects with engineering and other cross‑functional teams, while representing the functional excellence team in PLM steering committees. The engineer also works with peers to advance LEAN and continuous‑improvement initiatives for organizational processes and PLM under guidance from PLM, IT, and business leaders.
Covering functional requirements from engineering teams to PLM and integrated IT systems, the role requires dynamic collaboration among EFE, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and Eaton IT teams. It also oversees risk and requirement coordination, planning, controlling, and integrating all project activities to ensure goals are met and providing regular updates to business units and divisions.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and possess 5‑7 years of product design and development experience, preferably with hands‑on ENOVIA PLM involvement. Required technical skills include experience with PLM environments, standard part‑release processes, Lean/DMAIC tools, and programming in Excel Macros/VBA, as well as dashboarding with Power BI or QlikView. Soft‑skill expectations cover leadership, communication, analytical ability, business acumen, schedule management, logical thinking, and a results‑driven mindset.
