Sample Preparation Technician

Description

• Maintains a working stock of consumables, which are essential to perform daily activities and tasks
• To always perform all duties in a professional manner, including wearing appropriate safety/work apparel as supplied by RPS
• Responsible for preparing samples of crops and other foodstuffs prior to their analysis
• Adheres to company Health and Safety policies to maintain a safe working environment
• To work as part of a team to ensure that all other routine laboratory tasks are completed to ensure that the Laboratory operates smoothly
• Assists in other areas and performs other tasks as directed by the Laboratory Manager or his/her delegate
• Working as part of a team to achieve goals set by the Laboratory Manager
• Handling of foods, including nuts
• Ensure all Quality documentation is followed, adhered to and maintained in-line with procedures developed by the Quality Manager

Requirements

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, seeking advice where necessary
• Good inter-personal and communication skills
• Experience of working in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
• Ability to work with minimal supervision as well as part of a team
• Good time management skills, attention to detail and ability to cope under pressure
