Operations is at the heart of keeping the strategic road network moving and ensuring our customers get the best possible experience when using our roads.
We address over 39,000 customer enquiries every month, plan and deliver all maintenance activities on the network, drive efficiencies and improvements across our systems and roads, and respond to incidents across 4,500 miles of motorways and major A-roads that we manage. All to make sure National Highways customers have safer, smoother, and more reliable journeys.
As a Commercial Assistant at National Highways, you will provide vital administrative and organisational support to the Commercial teams. You will be responsible for assisting the commercial team with a variety of commercial activities using National Highways systems, including but not limited to Confirm and CEMAR.
Additionally, you will support the periodic payment assessment cycles, ensuring all payments are processed within contract timescales, and collating and distributing payment information. You will also assist with commercial administration, managing correspondence, and developing and maintaining commercial registers and operating systems to support efficient operations.
- Manage own work according to business need, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Complete administrative tasks such as minute taking and distribution of documentation.
- Assist the commercial team to assess payment applications.
- Be personally responsible for the safety of self and others, reporting unsafe conditions and near miss incidents.
- Prepare and issue supply chain communications and monitor required responses.

- DBS criminal record check
- Ability to produce and maintain of a range of registers, reports, documents
