In this role, you’ll partner with the Project Manager to deliver accurate, high-quality inspection and reporting services. While your primary focus will be projects in North Carolina and South Carolina, you’ll also have the opportunity to support new clients as we expand across the Southeast.
- Perform safety inspections of assigned structures, prepare/review reports to ensure all client requirements are met.
- Planning and Design Limited Services Agreement with all NCDOT Divisions for review and design work
- Lift and carry heavy loads such as ladders across uneven terrain
- 130087 Inspection and Maintenance of Ancillary Highway Structures,
- Traverse steep embankments, work within confined spaces and at height
- 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges
- Work in extreme weather conditions
- Mentor and develop less experienced staff by providing instruction, assigning and reviewing work, coaching, training, and guiding them in efficient inspection practices.
- Support the Project Manager in the daily operations of NBIS Inspection contracts, including scheduling, logistics, and required monthly client notifications.

Join our team as an experienced NBIS certified Bridge Inspection Team Leader. Candidates in South Carolina will be considered for full remote if located in the Charleston area.
- Willingness and ability to travel on short notice, including multi-week assignments as needed
- A strong work ethic with the ability to self-motivate, work independently, and remain highly efficient while working remotely.
- NBIS Bridge Inspection Team Leader Certification
- 130053 Bridge Inspection Refresher Training (as required to remain current)
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an ABET-accredited program preferred
- or 130056 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges for Professional Engineers
- Successful completion of Additional coursework (preferred or willingness to obtain):
- Experience with non-destructive testing methods, preferred
- Experience with NCDOT WIGINS software
- Successful completion of the following National Highway Institute (NHI) courses:
- Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR)
- Thorough knowledge of bridge inspection methods, procedures, and reporting requirements
- Experience with AASHTOWare BrM (Bridge Management) software
- Current approval by NCDOT and/or SCDOT as a Bridge Inspection Team Leader (highly preferred)
- 135047 Stream Stability and Scour at Highway Bridges for Bridge Inspectors
- Experience performing NBIS bridge inspections
- Physical ability to:
- 130078 Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges,
