Use 2D and 3D CAD software to model designs and individual parts to support the generation of 3D models, engineering drawings and prepare bills of material to support ordering of components like core clamps, tie-plates, top and bottom segments, winding supports, step blocks OD cooling parts, steel bandages etc.
Support the core and clamping manufacturing processes, quality inspections, failure analysis, concessions on tolerances, vendor development and responding queries from suppliers.
Collaborate on R&D projects for further product improvements.
Prepare core cutting lists for cutting and slitting of cores for individual designs.
Coordinating all aspects of factory setup to ensure readiness for production.
Perform advanced calculations like structural analysis (eg. using ANSYS, CREO simulate)
Supporting factory construction and process implementation.

Strong knowledge of structural steel, insulation parts, core grades, and related materials (e.g., high tensile steel, GOES, laminated wood, pressboard).
Learn transformer design rules and use of transformer design calculation tools related to core and clamping.
Familiarity with IEEE, ANSI, IEC standards for transformers and materials.
Excellent English communication skills; ability to work independently and coordinate with manufacturing and suppliers.
Proficient in 3D CAD (CREO, PRO/E, Inventor), 2D CAD (AutoCAD), PDM systems (PDM Link, Teamcenter), and SAP for BOM creation.
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years in core/clamping or active part design for Power Transformers (≥50 MVA / 220 kV).
Willing to relocate to Charlotte, NC.
Understand the electrical design output and perform mechanical design, development and analysis of core and clamping assembly.
