Lead engineering across UK sites, managing processes, capital projects, CMMS, Lean and sustainability.
Further integrate our systems to maximise the effectiveness of the maintenance teams
Increase focus on health and safety (H&S) training, including the management of Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER)
Providing strategic leadership and direction to the engineering teams across multiple sites
Ensure the team keeps pace with technological advances and industry best practices
Collaborate with other departments to integrate sustainable practices into engineering operations
Lead the implementation of Lean principles and practices across all sites
Develop and implement maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and extend equipment life

Oversee and optimize production processes to ensure efficiency and quality
Drive Lean initiatives to eliminate waste, improve process flow, and enhance productivity

Develop CMMS to ensure standardisation and consistent quality of maintenance activities
Play an active role in the companys decarbonisation journey
Conduct Lean training and workshops to build internal capabilities
Implement and maintain a robust CMMS to manage maintenance activities and asset performance
Develop and implement strategies to reduce carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Monitor and report on Lean initiatives and their impact on operational performance, including the development of the Wienerberger Maintenance Standard.
Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve production performance (including digitalisation)
Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the engineering team
Coach and mentor the broader Operations team

Continuous Improvement (CI) experience, particularly in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
Ideally NEBOSH qualified
Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field
A sound understanding of decarbonisation strategies and sustainable practices
CAD trained (preferable but not essential)
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
Expertise in Lean principles and practices
Extensive experience in engineering management, preferably in a multi-site environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
International experience preferable
Good working knowledge of electrical systems
Experience with Lean methodologies and tools. Ideally Six Sigma qualified (Black Belt)
Strong network of contacts and suppliers
Condition monitoring and enhanced predictive maintenance
Proficient in using CMMS and other relevant software
Experience working in the ceramics industry
Heavy engineering experience
Proven track record of managing capital projects and implementing CMMS
Strong leadership and team management skills
The ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Proficient in electrical systems and heavy engineering
