Provider of non‑hazardous solid waste collection, recycling, disposal and energy services.
A Driver Trainee will be trained by Republic Services to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL). Upon successful completion of the program, the trainee will transition into a Driver role in residential, commercial, industrial, or roll‑off services.
A twelve‑month employment period with Republic Services is required after obtaining the CDL. Trainees will learn to conduct full pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections and to report safety issues as required.
Applicants must have no prohibitions preventing them from acquiring a CDL. The role requires the ability to operate manual or automatic controls safely, monitor waste containers, and maintain vehicle readiness.
The trainee will complete a comprehensive CDL training program that includes classroom instruction, on‑route training, and hands‑on truck operation, with resources such as a loaned vehicle to prepare for the state CDL exam. After receiving the CDL, the incumbent will perform all driver duties, including route service, waste collection, compaction, and disposal, while adhering to safety policies.
Eligible employees can participate in a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement plans, stock purchase options, and paid time off.
