Gains a comprehensive understanding of departmental design standards, applicable engineering codes, and Kiewit guidelines; provide suggestions and recommendations as needed.
Checks design for consistency, safety, operability and maintenance requirements
Works with a multi-discipline team to review and understand client operational and business needs; specifies equipment and contributes to design decisions that meets those needs
Reviews checked drawings, reviews and understands comments made.
Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
Reports project progress updates and/or issues to Lead Engineer as required.
Applies engineering judgement to daily tasks
Maintains master specification and drawing sets with current revisions for the electrical and controls design drawings.
Develops sketches to accompany concept documentation.
Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
Participates in project meetings as required.
Reviews vendor and other Discipline drawings for relevant Electrical information
Completes miscellaneous tasks to support project development.

Must be able to communicate through emails, phone, and in-person, and utilize electronic meeting requests.
Must have a working knowledge of spreadsheets, databases and PDF software.

Familiar with basic computer operation, and should have had at least introductory computer programming courses as well as the ability to learn to use Electrical department design software tools
Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
Must be able to represent Kiewit to owners, contractors, vendors and any other contacts outside the Kiewit organization.
Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
