Role
Description

Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior staff.
Meet with clients daily to discuss instrumentation levels and necessary actions to protect EAS during active excavation works.
Ensure instrument readings are being performed and reported as required by Project Agreement.
Manage subcontract for installation, maintenance, and monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation.
Manage handover of existing instrumentation from other contractors and final decommissioning of instruments no longer useful to the project.
Review, prepare, and present detailed reports and submissions, including analysis and recommendations.
Review and manage the GIMP to streamline project processes.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and project stakeholders to communicate findings.
Manage and coordinate instrumentation teams, consultants, and contractors.
Analyze instrumentation data to identify and assess site conditions and risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Manage and support procurement, installation, and monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation required for project execution.
Ensure all activities comply with environmental and geotechnical regulations and industry standards.

University, College, or Postgraduate Degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction, or related field.
Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems.
Knowledge of environmental and health and safety legislation in Ontario.
Previous experience working in a similar role on a large-scale transit/subway project is preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Proven experience in producing and reviewing geotechnical instrumentation reports.
Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong understanding and interpretation of geotechnical instrumentation data.
Professional Geoscientist certification is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively in a team environment.
10+ years of experience with the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation.
