Key responsibilities include designing and continuously improving AWS network architectures using VPCs, subnets, routing, and traffic controls, configuring VPN, Direct Connect, and VPC peering, and managing Transit Gateway solutions to simplify routing and support growth. The administrator also monitors traffic patterns, troubleshoots performance bottlenecks, and ensures compliance with SCCA standards.
Nakupuna Consulting seeks a motivated AWS Network Administrator to design, deploy, and operate secure, highly available cloud network environments for mission‑critical workloads. The role focuses on building and optimizing connectivity from enterprise Cloud Access Points into the AWS Secure Cloud Computing Architecture while collaborating with network, systems, cybersecurity, and application teams.
The ideal candidate possesses hands‑on experience as a network engineer in AWS, strong knowledge of AWS networking services (VPC, EC2, ELB, Route 53, Transit Gateway, CloudWatch) and security tools (GuardDuty, Security Hub, Inspector, IAM Access Analyzer, Detective, CloudTrail), and solid understanding of networking protocols and security technologies. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, active IAT II certification, and a Top Secret clearance are required, with AWS certifications preferred.
The position is based in Arlington, VA, requiring on‑site work at least three days per week, occasional travel, and core hours of 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM with flexibility for after‑hours emergencies. Physical requirements include the ability to perform repetitive hand motions, follow audible communications in emergencies, and sit for prolonged periods.
