  • Deliver regular release items (problems and requests) understanding business requirements and completing the design, build, testing and deployment of functional components.
  • Provide technical expertise in systems applications within a nominated function
  • Support Audit activities
  • Design & deliver technical/functional solutions against specifications and blueprints in accordance with agreed standards and procedures
  • The role communicates internally with business users and externally with SAP and with 3rd party partner that provides Basis Services
  • For small projects, work with the solution lead to deliver overall solution track for the project
  • To be involved in Hitachi Rail Limited’s staff development and training and participate in PDP procedures.
  • Support the acceptance and implementation of new functional solutions into the production environment ensuring relevant support documentation is available.
  • To be aware of and actively promote and implement Hitachi’s ethos, culture and values.
  • Co-ordinate and manage application of Security and other patches for SAP, OS and databases
  • Develop and deliver release notes and key user training for all new or enhanced application functionality.
  • Provide 2nd/3rd line support for incidents reported to the service desk in line with SLA.
  • Complete detailed solution documentation for technical solutions
  • Complete unit and integration testing of developments in line with agreed processes ensuring completion within allocated timescales
  • Keep abreast of advances of available technologies and best practice to identify and exploit new opportunities

  • Subject Matter Expert for SAP QM Module
  • Completed solution configuration for primary module
  • Vast experience in SAP QM functional Development / Support
  • Specific knowledge of SAP QM module including:
  • Operated in multi-project, matrix managed environment
  • Good understanding of integration with other SAP modules.
  • Experience of Manufacturing/Service Management Organisations
  • Completed at least 3 significant full systems implementation lifecycles
  • Relevant SAP module area certification is desirable.
  • Excellent/effective communications skills to all levels of the organisation
  • Degree Qualified in IT discipline or similar relevant subject
  • Vast experience working in a manufacturing/assembly environment
  • Experience of systems development and project management methodologies
  • Understanding of ASAP and experience in delivering solutions within ASAP methodology
