We have an exciting opportunity for a Road Maintenance Supervisor to join the West Waikato State Highway Maintenance Contract team based out of Hamilton. We are looking for a motivated person to work alongside the Operations and Programme Managers to assist in managing the quality and efficiency of the day‑to‑day contract operations across the Region.

In this role you will manage daily operational activities, ensure business excellence and targets are met, allocate resources, handle bookings, and communicate with staff, subcontractors and clients. You will lead a team, mentor and develop staff, manage performance, and oversee fleet management.

Requirements

We are seeking someone who is safety‑ and compliance‑focused with a background in civil construction and maintenance. The ideal candidate can manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, provide clear work instructions, and hold a Class 2 or 4 driver’s licence (WTR endorsement and digger competency preferred). Excellent written and verbal communication, a sense of humour, flexibility on working hours, and the ability to relate to diverse people and working styles are essential.
