Description

Suggest and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure housekeeping standards are met and report deficiencies.
Adhere to maintenance schedules and meet reliability targets.
Assist with inspections, defect resolution, fabrication of parts, and large-scale installations.
Maintain high standards of safety in line with company Health & Safety policies, including PPE usage and safe operation of mobile plant.
Perform scheduled maintenance and respond to unscheduled mechanical repairs.
Support SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) initiatives, including policy implementation and incident prevention.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and propose improvement actions.
Complete IT-based reporting (e.g., SAP PM requirements).
Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Production teams to ensure effective task completion.
Operate plant equipment ensuring compliance with EN450AN standards and production tolerances.
Conduct risk assessments and implement safe working procedures; generate documentation as required.
Respond to out-of-hours breakdowns as part of a call-out rota.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proven mechanical experience in cement or similar heavy continuous process industry.
Willingness to work flexible hours and undertake additional tasks as required.
Excellent time management and attention to detail.
Time-served apprenticeship in mechanical engineering craft.
Knowledge of equipment isolation procedures.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong Health, Safety & Environmental awareness; ability to lead by example.
IT literacy (SAP experience desirable).
Proactive approach to safety and environmental standards.
Knowledge of cement manufacturing processes.
Mechanical expertise in heavy industry, including slinging, rigging, welding, and gas cutting.
Multi-skilled maintenance capability.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
IOSH certification.
NVQ Level 3 Maintenance or equivalent experience.
