The engineer will prepare and review design documents, conduct field investigations, communicate with staff and stakeholders, and act as the company’s representative with clients and subcontractors. Additional duties include negotiating scope changes, supporting project execution, health‑safety and QA/QC plans, supervising technical teams, monitoring progress and milestones, and participating in performance reviews and business development activities.
- Prepare and review design plans, specifications, calculations, and technical reports with minimal supervision.
- Conduct field investigations and site assessments to inform design decisions.
- Communicate with project staff, clients, and subcontractors; act as company representative on site.
- Negotiate scope changes with clients and subcontractors and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
- Develop and support Project Execution, Health & Safety, and QA/QC plans.
- Supervise technical teams, assign tasks based on strengths, and provide performance feedback.
- Monitor project progress, milestones, cost and schedule impacts, and lead weekly field meetings.
- Participate in performance reviews, corporate business development, and cash other related duties.

- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- E.I.T. certification preferred; PE license or Marine Engineering credentials a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in transportation or infrastructure design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Familiarity with Rhode Island DOT (RIDOT) design standards preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
