The Fiber Splicing Supervisor oversees repair, maintenance, and installation of fiber optic networks, managing day‑to‑day splicing operations and responding to both emergency and non‑emergency repair calls. The role demands a strong technical background in fiber optics and the ability to lead complex technical duties with minimal supervision, ensuring network functionality before leaving the customer site.
The supervisor is responsible for overseeing construction, splicing, and distribution changes of both Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) fiber optic networks, conducting tests to troubleshoot problems, and guaranteeing that necessary repairs are completed after troubleshooting.
The position requires at least 4‑5 years of fiber splicing and leadership experience, knowledge of local cable facilities, and proficiency with various termination methods, test equipment, and documentation practices in both aerial and buried environments.
