You’ll be part of the team that keeps automation projects moving, supporting data‑center startups and performing on‑site mechanical, electrical, and control checks. You’ll lead startup, checkout, and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems in industries such as food and beverage, and partner with automation and controls engineers to test, troubleshoot, and validate their systems on‑site. Clear communication and updates to customers and project teams are essential to keep progress smooth and accurate. Travel rotations typically follow schedules like 5‑on/2‑off, 10‑on/4‑off, or 14‑on/7‑off, exposing you to new challenges and locations.
We’re opening our 2026 hiring pipeline for curious, adaptable problem‑solvers who love travel, hands‑on work, and being part of a team that actually knows your name. If you can laugh through flight delays, figure things out on the fly, and find satisfaction in solving complex problems, this role could be a perfect fit.
We’re looking for candidates who truly love travel and are willing to be away from home on rotation, with a working knowledge of electrical systems, programming, and communication networking. Adaptability, grit, strong communication, and problem‑solving skills are must‑haves, as is the ability to thrive when plans change. You must live within 50 miles of a major airport (relocation assistance available), have a personal vehicle within 45 days of employment, and be authorized to work in the U.S. A technical degree or equivalent hands‑on experience (3+ years) in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering is required.
Physical requirements include walking long distances across large facilities, climbing ladders or working at heights, lifting and moving up to 50 lb, and standing, kneeling, or reaching for extended periods in varied environments such as construction sites or outdoors. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. ProAutomated is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to an inclusive environment where all team members feel respected and supported.
Our four‑week paid training prepares technically skilled individuals for the field, and success requires a basic foundation in electrical systems, programming, and communication networking. If you’re new to these areas, this role may not yet be the right fit.
You’ll travel across North America, tackling unique projects while earning travel rewards, with no office to report to. Starting salary ranges from $60,000 to $75,000 plus per diem, mileage reimbursement, utilization and weekend bonuses, and a 5% salary increase after six months. We invest in your growth through paid training, annual merit raises, health, dental, and life insurance, a matching 401(k), disability options, paid vacation, and flexible time off after 18 months. Our people‑first culture emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, humor, and leaders who have risen through the same ranks.
