Cost Manager - Real Estate

Description

• Assist with feasibility studies and draft procurement reports.
• Produce and present final cost plans, including estimating and cost planning.
• Manage tendering and procurement processes, overseeing pre‑qualification stages.
• Handle post‑contract cost variances and change‑control procedures.
• Perform cost checks and valuations on large projects, ensuring timely accuracy.
• Generate monthly post‑contract cost reports and present them to clients.
• Contribute to value‑engineering initiatives.
• Negotiate and finalize final accounts.
• Interface with clients and consultants throughout all project phases.
• May be responsible for SOX controls where applicable.

Requirements

The Edinburgh Real Estate team is seeking a Cost Manager to support a portfolio of iconic projects across Scotland. The role involves collaborating daily with conservators, architects and engineers to ensure clients and contractors achieve best‑value solutions from both qualitative and commercial perspectives. Candidates should have a strong interest in heritage construction, solid construction knowledge from a main‑contracting or PQS background, and an outgoing, collaborative approach.

• Demonstrate a proven track record in cost management/quantity surveying across project lifecycles.
• Hold a degree or HNC qualification, with professional accreditation (RICS or equivalent).
