The Electrical Engineering Lead will represent VHB at client, regulatory and stakeholder meetings, manage client relationships, and drive business development. They will oversee project scopes and deliverables such as electrical layouts, one‑line diagrams, construction documents and equipment specifications, and will coordinate activities among clients, utilities, contractors and other disciplines.
Key technical duties include developing utility interconnection applications, integrating energy storage systems into solar PV, performing system impact studies, preparing technical reports and presentations, and providing expert witness services. The lead will also mentor early‑career engineers.
VHB is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Lead for its Energy Evolution Practice. The role focuses on substation, interconnection, solar and battery storage projects and works within integrated teams that include civil, structural, environmental, planning and regulatory engineering. The ideal candidate will have strong project and client management skills, leadership experience, market connectivity, and a seller‑doer mindset.
Required qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or related), a Professional Engineering (PE) license, and 8–11 years of design experience, including at least five years on commercial or utility‑scale solar PV and BESS projects. Familiarity with the NEC, NESC, and experience in the northeastern U.S. are preferred.
