The Donation Associate provides excellent customer service and ensures a safe, positive, and rewarding experience for customers and donors. Responsibilities include pricing, merchandising, maintaining the sales floor, cashiering, moving, and loading donations, as well as other duties as assigned.
- Clean, sort, price, and store donations per price guide; seek supervisor guidance as needed.
- Keep loading dock clear and safe; maintain a clutter‑free back room.
- Assist donors promptly, accepting or rejecting items based on sellable condition.
- Unload scheduled pickups with truck drivers and handle specialty pickups.
- Greet donors and customers, thank them, and answer questions.
- Complete daily opening and closing checklists.
- Process POS transactions, including discounts, coupons, returns, and tax exemptions.
- Help customers transport purchases to their vehicles.
- Sort clothing donations and prepare them for the sales floor.
- Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and visitors.
- Deliver excellent customer service and address inquiries.
- Use light arithmetic for accurate register work.
