Principal

Description

The Principal leads the facility’s education department, designing and evaluating curricula that meet inmate needs, supervising staff, enforcing policies, and maintaining a safe classroom environment. They ensure compliance with contract requirements, company goals, and monitor instructional effectiveness, attendance, and lesson adherence.

• Design, implement, and evaluate curriculum tailored to inmate interests and abilities.
• Supervise education department staff and assess their performance per facility and company policy.
• Enforce policies and standards to achieve or exceed facility education goals.
• Maintain a safe, conducive classroom environment and appropriate student behavior.
• Monitor classroom activities, lesson plan adherence, student attendance, and program effectiveness.
• Agree to CoreCivic’s drug‑free workplace policy and EOE commitments.

Requirements

• Hold a Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or Education Administration from an accredited institution.
• Possess at least three years of full‑time professional education experience, including one year in an educational supervisory role.
• Meet certification, licensure, or credential requirements as dictated by contract or state law.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office or comparable software applications.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and be at least 18 years of age.

Benefits
