The Transformer Tester (TT) is responsible for testing medium‑power transformers up to 230 kV 100 MVA, performing electrical diagnostics, oil testing, and analyzing results with specialized equipment. The role requires solid knowledge of electrical systems, meticulous attention to detail, and strict adherence to safety protocols.
The TT works closely with internal teams—Quality Assurance, Engineering, Production/Assembly, and Maintenance—to ensure transformers meet quality standards, interpret test specifications, coordinate test schedules, and support rework. External interactions may include vendors, suppliers, customers, or inspectors for equipment support and factory acceptance testing.
The position involves physical demands such as lifting up to 60 lb, standing, walking, bending, and using hand tools while wearing required PPE in environments that can be hot, cold, dusty, or noisy; ladders and elevated platforms may be used.
Work hours are Monday through Friday, with weekends required as needed. Candidates should hold an Associate’s degree in Electrical or Utilities Engineering (or equivalent) and have experience testing transformers or high‑voltage equipment; OSHA/NFPA 70E training, NETA certification, or similar credentials are a plus.
