Key duties include business development activities, leading project teams, developing mechanical design strategies for efficient and sustainable construction, building client and industry relationships, overseeing the full project lifecycle, preparing specifications and drawings, ensuring compliance with standards, establishing engineering best‑practice standards, utilizing industry‑specific software, producing reports and tender submissions, coordinating permitting, estimating and scheduling projects, and promoting health and safety rules.

• Design HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, and multi‑family residential projects.
• Collaborate with the Mechanical Design Team and Mechanical Team Lead; prepare to transition into Team Lead role.
• Lead business development: acquire clients, write proposals, review RFPs, and attend industry events.
• Provide project leadership, client feedback, and direction across all project phases.
• Develop and monitor mechanical design strategies for efficient, sustainable construction.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, engineers, technologists, contractors, and industry affiliates.
• Oversee the full project lifecycle, including administrative and financial coordination.
• Prepare engineering specifications, drawings, and cost estimates; ensure compliance with standards.
• Establish mechanical engineering standards and best‑practice guidelines.
• Utilize industry software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and analysis tools for design and reporting.
• Produce reports, proposals, tender/bid submissions, budgets, and project plans.
• Coordinate permitting and approvals with relevant agencies.
• Estimate, schedule, and close out projects; maintain company data and resources.
• Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety policies.
• Manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Requirements

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer in the Saskatoon office, you will work closely with the Mechanical Design Team and the Mechanical Team Lead, gaining experience to eventually transition into the Mechanical Team Lead role. The position requires HVAC design experience in commercial, industrial and multi‑family residential buildings.

The role requires a P.Eng. designation, at least 10 years of mechanical HVAC design experience, strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and AutoCAD (Revit is a plus), excellent English communication skills, professional and action‑oriented attitude, strong organization, problem‑solving abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment while maintaining work‑life balance.

• Hold a P.Eng. designation with 10+ years of HVAC mechanical design experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and AutoCAD; Revit experience considered an asset.
• Exhibit strong written and oral communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
