Field Engineer - Maintenance Services

Description

The Field Engineer supports projects both on‑site (about 25% of the year) and at the home office, serving as a vital member of the project management team. Responsibilities include proposal development, planning, scheduling, execution oversight, tooling management, safety and quality control, subcontract monitoring, and corporate and customer reporting, as well as contributing to future project planning and estimating.

• Develop estimates and proposals after walking down work scopes; write RFQs and obtain material quotes.
• Identify and mitigate proposal and contractual risks during the bidding phase.
• Create and update project execution plans and schedules using Primavera P6 or similar tools.
• Develop rigging plans and coordinate with third‑party engineers for PE stamps.
• Update project progress in Ineight and issue purchase orders to subcontractors and vendors.
• Manage subcontractors, material deliveries, and ensure timely submission of project documents and reports.
• Serve as interface with engineering teams to provide direction and troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with project management, craft employees, and participate in corporate meetings, customer visits, and conference calls.
• Communicate project status, changes, and updates to clients and TEiC leadership; develop change order estimates.
• Review engineering drawings, analyze project impacts, and support operations with forecasting and schedule development.
• Identify project challenges, propose solutions, and produce change order estimates.
• Track earned value, manage rigging and execution plans, and maintain organized project documentation.
• Balance on‑site work and home‑office tasks through effective time management.

Travel is required, with the ability to live and work remotely from home for up to one month at a time, and the position is based in Duncan, SC, featuring an onsite gym and pickle‑ball court.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred; knowledge of construction methods for power generation maintenance required.
• Strong decision‑making, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and full project‑life‑cycle management experience.
• Completion of OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Safety Training (or within 30 days of onboarding).
• Willingness to travel and live remotely for up to one month.
