The employee receives, stores, and issues materials and supplies to project sites, loads and unloads equipment, and ensures the warehouse remains orderly and safe. Responsibilities also include moving materials within the plant or yard, labeling, bundling, and assembling crates for shipment, while adhering to safety and project rules.
- Receive, store, and issue materials and supplies to project sites.
- Load and unload supplies, material, and equipment; place incoming items on shelves or assigned areas, including ladder use for stocking.
- Move materials within or near plant, yard, or work site by reading work orders or following oral instructions.
- Open containers using steel cutters, crowbars, claw hammers, or other hand tools.
- Load and unload materials onto/from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
- Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Transport materials to/from storage or work sites using hand trucks, electric dollies, wheelbarrows, forklifts, or other devices.
- Secure lifting attachments and convey loads using hand‑operated cranes or hoists, or signal crane operators.
- Count, weigh, and record units of materials moved on daily production sheets.
- Attach identifying tags or labels to materials and mark information on cases, bales, or containers.
- Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band them using a banding machine and clincher.
- Clamp portable conveyor sections together or place them on blocks/boxes to facilitate movement.
- Lift heavy objects by hand or power hoist; clean work area, machines, and equipment with broom, rags, and cleaning compounds.
- Assemble crates to ship products such as machines or vehicles using hand tools and pre‑cut lumber.
- Shovel loose materials (gravel, metals, plastics, chemicals) into wheelbarrows, scrap trucks, or barrels.
- Occasionally operate forklift, truck, or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
- Observe and comply with all safety and project rules; perform other duties as required.

The Journeyman step requires typically three years or more of documented field experience in the chosen craft discipline, with the ability to read and interpret instructions, plan, and perform work activities independently. A Leadman provides leadership, instruction, and guidance to other craft workers, assisting the Foreman while working at the journeyman level. The role provides shipping and receiving support for projects, maintains inventory control, operates warehouse equipment, and participates in warehouse maintenance and cleaning, working with a high degree of independence.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, be at least 18 years old, and be able to lift up to 60 pounds. They must pass a pre‑employment physical and drug screen and be able to work in an outdoor environment. Zero to two years of relevant experience is required.
