Ensure designs comply with industry codes, standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE), and project requirements
Assist with strategic planning for the expansion of design-build capabilities in new markets
Maintain and grow long-term client relationships to support revenue and repeat business goals

Provide oversight and quality assurance for the work of junior engineers and electrical designers

Identify and lead process improvement initiatives across engineering and operations
Participate in project pursuit, planning, and feasibility studies; contribute to estimating and design alternatives
Serve as lead electrical designer for assigned projects from concept through construction documentation
Proactively seek feedback from Project Managers, BIM Detailers, Estimators, and Field Leadership to continually enhance coordination with all project stakeholders
Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to develop effective design solutions
Lead or support the development of company-wide electrical design standards
Represent Baker Group in external meetings and industry organizations

Strong knowledge of contract language and terms
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, safety boots, Hi-Vis vest)
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Demonstrated strength in leading teams and driving successful outcomes
Demonstrated proficiency in Revit and related design software tools
Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, architects, and contractors
Produce and review drawings using Revit; familiarity with related software packages is a plus
Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design, engineering, or construction
Ability to navigate and manage challenging situations calmly and effectively
Tape measure
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred), or a related field such as Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management
Must be able to lift 20 pounds occasionally
Fundamental knowledge of accounting principles and financial practices
Valid driver’s license
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
Exceptional proficiency in both verbal and written communication
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Proven track record leading electrical design projects from initial concept through construction documentation
