• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems.
• Diagnose and fix faults in electrical, mechanical and HVAC equipment.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.

• Mentor apprentices and junior engineers.

Requirements

Arcus is a leading facilities management team seeking a skilled Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineer based in or near Chippenham. The role involves delivering planned and reactive maintenance across a defined portfolio, providing top‑quality service and first‑line emergency response.

• Hold a recognised apprenticeship or qualification in M&E services/maintenance.
• Possess prior experience in a similar retail or commercial role.
• Maintain a valid UK driving licence.
• Hold 18th Edition, F‑Gas and Test & Inspection certifications.
• Demonstrate strong problem‑solving abilities and independent work style.
• Be proficient with IT tools and capable of managing workload effectively.

Benefits

The position offers a salary of £35,834 or £41,210 depending on experience, full door‑to‑door pay, up to 4 % bonus, overtime at time‑and‑a‑half, a company van with personal use from day 1, and 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays. Ongoing training and development are provided at the National Training Centre.

This is a field‑based role that requires travel between client sites and includes on‑call duties (one week in four).
