Provide constructability advice during pre‑construction, coordinating with operations teams on procurement, schedule, and logistics
Effectively determine the bid strategies required for Chandos to be successful
Establish and maintain unit costs, labour rates, escalation, and contingency allowances
Perform detailed material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor take‑offs
Solicit competitive bids, negotiate with subcontractors/suppliers, and conduct value‑engineering reviews
Track estimated vs. actual costs, report variances, and support lessons learned for continuous improvement
Lead estimating workshops to align costs with project goals and foster transparent decision‑making
Build and maintain exceptionally strong relationships with subtrades, consultants, suppliers, and all of our valued clients
Prepare and coordinate full‑cost estimates for all project phases—concept to tender—with a focus on collaborative methodology

Must be experienced bidding on completed work not just prospective
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Construction, Engineering, or a related field
Proficiency in reading and interpreting specifications, blueprints, and as-builts
Strong mathematical and analytical skills for developing accurate material and labour estimates, as well as interpreting job-cost reports
10+ years of experience estimating/hard bidding on ICI projects with a mid-large general contractor (GC) (not just concrete/mechanical/electrical)
Experience with cost-estimating software to prepare bids and quotes
AutoCAD experience is considered an asset
