Cost Manager (Infrastructure Consultancy)

Description

The Cost Manager role is based in the South East or Anglia and supports key infrastructure clients in water, environment, and power transmission and distribution sectors. The position sits within the Buildings & Places Infrastructure team and contributes to the delivery of capital projects and programmes.

• Manage cost processes from project inception through commissioning, including feasibility estimates, cost planning, contract procurement, tender documentation, value engineering, risk management, post‑contract reporting and final account agreement.
• Uphold the highest standards of professional competence and enhance AECOM’s reputation with clients.
• Drive performance and technical excellence through clear communication and participation in AECOM’s performance management and technical practice networks.
• Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships to promote premium professional services.
• Mentor and support junior staff members within the team.

Requirements

Ideal candidates have a strong background in quantity surveying and cost management for infrastructure projects.

• Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
• Be MRICS accredited or actively pursuing membership.
• Possess experience delivering cost/quantity surveying on large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrate solid knowledge of NEC4 contracts, especially the Professional Services Contract (PSC) and Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC).
• Experience working in integrated, multi‑organisation, collaborative teams; client‑organisation exposure is advantageous.
