Ensure the integrity of settlement claims to the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), including settlements for Regulated Price Plan customers, embedded generations, and customer rebates.
Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with Meter Data Management, Meter Service Provider, IT, and Billing teams to adapt to IESO Market Renewal Program changes.
Lead the integration, modernization, and optimization of settlement systems to enhance functionality and efficiency.
Lead the eligibility assessment and opt-in process for Class A customers under Ontario’s Industrial Conservation Initiative.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement, promoting collaboration and accountability across the team.
Provide leadership to team members through coaching, development, resource planning, and performance management.
Identify, recommend, and implement policy, process, and procedural improvements to drive operational effectiveness.
Monitor industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging issues, maintaining strong relationships with regulatory and government bodies.
Manage relationships with the IESO and Hydro One, ensuring compliance and effective collaboration on settlement issues.
Oversee the validation of Alectra Utilities’ energy and transmission costs, approximately $3 billion annually, ensuring accuracy and compliance across about 60 energy delivery points.
Support energy variance account dispositions, IRM, and rebasing applications before the Ontario Energy Board (OEB).
Design and implement complex billing setups for generation accounts, delivering customer-focused support.
Ensure the timely and accurate submission of all settlement-related Reporting and Record Keeping Requirements (RRR) to the OEB.
Lead management initiatives to support team engagement and alignment with corporate goals.
Ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory, and Health & Safety standards.
Manage transmission settlements with Hydro One concerning embedded generations.
Promote and uphold a safe work environment by adhering to Alectra’s corporate health and safety policies.

Strong understanding of engineering principles, load analysis, metering, billing, and settlement processes between LDCs and the IESO.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in leadership, preferably in finance, engineering, settlements, or billing.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Excellent strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving abilities.
Experience in rate-making and regulatory compliance.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
In-depth knowledge of OEB rules, codes, and requirements and IESO market rules.
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to influence decisions and resolve complex issues.
Professional designation preferred: CPA designation or P. Eng. MBA is considered an asset.
Demonstrate professional conduct and align with Alectra’s core values of safety, teamwork, and customer focus.
Ability to drive performance excellence while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
Familiarity with settlement systems, including MV90, CMDE, Oracle LPSS, CC&B, Online IESO, and energy totalization tables.
Proven ability to lead and engage teams through change, fostering collaboration and development.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of tailoring messaging for diverse audiences.
