Planning, managing, supervising and interpreting ground investigations and laboratory test results.
Managing and supervising geotechnical/geoenvironmental investigations including soil and rock logging, soil and groundwater sampling and in-situ testing ensuring timely and quality delivery.
Delivery of geotechnical projects and reports with working knowledge of UK design codes (including EC7 Part 1, and UK annexes), standards and specifications.
Mentoring and targeting/facilitating the upskilling of engineers in the team.
Attending regular meetings with the client to discuss and appraise the performance of contract.
Ensuring full communication across all management levels within the project.
Making geotechnical recommendations including, earthworks, retaining structures, slopes and outline design of foundations.
Managing medium and small projects to ensure project KPIs and deliverables are met.
Taking a proactive approach in the responsibility for the Health and Safety of the project ensuring all required documentation in place.
Providing the technical input into tendering and delivery of projects.

Knowledge of good practice in a variety of areas including earthworks, environmental assessment, remediation, coal workings, geotechnical aspects such as slope stability, foundation recommendations.
A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK
Flexibility to travel across the UK.
Competent in all Microsoft applications, especially office - Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Experience in using Ground Investigation Data Management software such as OpenGround/Holebase/GINT. Experience in the use of other software would be advantageous including settlement analysis and slope stability.
Previous experience in managing large, medium and small ground investigation projects.
Valid CSCS
Eligible to work and live in the UK.
Experience of effectively managing own priorities and meeting deadlines, in a fast-pace environment.
Experience of working with GIS for GI management purposes is desirable.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Holding a basic understanding of UK legislation relating to ground contamination and developing awareness of how risks and liabilities will impact upon land ownership, planning and development would be an advantage.
Personable with strong communication and relationship building capabilities.
Hours of work are 8.00am - 5.00pm, Monday to Friday however flexibility is required
Knowledge of the role of investigation supervisor or contractors responsible engineer.
