- Enter inspection data and field notes into the NCDOT Bridge Management System and WIGINS database with accuracy and timeliness.
- Travel to field sites with inspectors as needed; work may include exposure to outdoor conditions, climbing structures, or accessing remote bridge locations.
- Take basic field measurements and assist with photo documentation of structures.
- Translate field notes into digital format using Microsoft Word, Excel, and specialized asset management tools.
- Perform file management and administrative duties, such as creating folders, archiving documentation, and managing digital photo logs.
- Follow established data protocols, naming conventions, and report formatting requirements.
- Assist in organizing, maintaining, and tracking structure inspection files across various projects and programs.
- Communicate effectively with sub-consultants and internal team members to coordinate tasks, confirm information, and ensure data quality.
- Support bridge inspection teams by preparing condition reports and organizing inspection findings for formal submittals.

- 1-3 years of related Bridge Inspector experience.
- Willingness and ability to travel and work outdoors, including working in field environments such as under bridges, near waterways, or on inspection vehicles.
- Previous exposure
- Ability to type 50+ words per minute with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
- A team-focused mindset with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to follow direction, learn new systems, and support technical teams.
- ProjectWise (document and drawing management system)
- Experience organizing large volumes of files or managing documentation for infrastructure or construction-related projects.
- Familiarity with the following tools is a plus:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel beyond basic level.
- Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 1 year of data entry experience.
