Engineering Technician

Description

• Calculation of quantities using Microsoft Excel and bid documents using Microsoft Word
• Prepare various exhibits and design drawings using AutoCAD Civil3D
• Assist Project Engineers to make inspections and/or tests of work being performed, and materials used on construction projects, maintaining project diaries and reports
• Assist with construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil3D including grading plans, plan and profiles, construction details, storm sewer, water and sewer facilities, pavement marking plans, cross sections
• Preparation of project specifications, cost estimates, and construction plans
• Coordination with agency staff and internal support teams on designs, analysis, and issues

Requirements

• An Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology is preferred but not required
• Strong communication skills with team members and clients, demonstrates active listening techniques
• Ability to be open to other's ideas and willing to compromise
• Able to follow general directions and guidelines for the firm’s policies, practices, and procedures
• Proficient in computer software (Word, Excel, AutoCAD Civil3D, Outlook)
• Competent technical skills required to complete engineering tasks
• Outgoing, friendly, approachable (team player)
• 3+ years of experience desired
• Able to proactively pursue design solutions
• Detail-oriented but also flexible enough to be big picture/conceptual
• A supportive team member with the ability to work both independently and within a collaborative environment
