The Production Technician assembles, tears down, and tests routine mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies across a product line that spans simple to highly complex commercial and military items. This role reports to the Production Supervisor/Manager in CSO and receives direction from the department lead, operating with little to no supervision.
The technician ensures all activities are performed with the correct tooling and documentation, organizing data and preparing test reports. Responsibilities include performing lock‑wire/safety‑wire installation, nameplate placement, visual inspections, and handling defective items according to established procedures.
Process improvement is encouraged; the technician proactively identifies opportunities, participates in cross‑training, and may act as the department representative during customer audits or visits. All work adheres to operational procedures, tooling calibration, clean and safe work area standards, and applicable safety rules.
A wide range of hand tools and specialized test equipment is used, such as pliers, wrenches, arbor press, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, pressure gauges, flow meters, multimeters, and test boxes. The technician must proficiently interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and testing schematics, as well as conduct material preparation like lapping surfaces with proper tooling techniques.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of four to six years of aerospace manufacturing experience, and at least four years assembling and testing hydraulic and electromechanical actuators with knowledge of hydraulic test equipment. Additional preferred credentials are an associate degree in a technical field, ESD certification, soldering experience, an A&P license, and experience in an FAA environment.
Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Los Angeles, CA, be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, and meet ITAR requirements as U.S. persons. Relocation assistance is not provided.
The company is an equal‑opportunity employer, complying with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance and the California Fair Chance Act, and offers reasonable accommodations for disability‑related needs. Benefit programs are available, though specific options depend on eligibility factors such as location, hire date, and collective bargaining agreements.
