Cost Engineer

We’re looking for a Cost Engineer who’s not just tracking numbers — but telling the story behind them.

You’ll work closely with Project Controls Managers to keep the project forecast honest — and the client informed.

This role sits at the heart of project performance, analysing trends, spotting risks early, and managing change across multi-million-pound programmes.

• Monitor, analyse, and report cost trends across work packages
• Work alongside Planning and Risk teams to align schedule and cost impacts
• Support the Change Control process – prepare estimates, validate impacts, update baselines
• Maintain the Trend & Change Register and ensure accurate cost forecasting
• Present insights to Project Managers and senior stakeholders
• Identify potential deviations before they become issues

Requirements

If you’re the kind of Cost Engineer who wants to influence outcomes, not just report them, this is your stage.

• Background in Project Controls / Cost Engineering within major projects
• Able to challenge constructively and communicate with confidence
• Strong with data – Excel, Power BI, or cost systems like PRISM, EcoSys, SAP, Cobra
• Solid understanding of trend analysis, change control, and forecasting

Benefits

Salary: £55,000 – £70,000 + benefits
