Assistant Surveyor

Description

The Assistant Surveyor will work under the guidance of a Senior Surveyor within Integrated Portfolio Management, supporting a large, diverse geographical portfolio for a major retail client. The role involves day‑to‑day property‑management tasks, liaison with internal teams, landlords and third‑party service providers, and preparation of client communications and reports.

• Support Portfolio Management with daily property‑management matters.
• Prepare and submit applications for consent on behalf of clients.
• Assist clients with managed exits, coordinating with facilities managers and solicitors.
• Liaise with internal Accounts team on rent and service‑charge payments.
• Coordinate database updates and invoice authorisation with the Property Administration team.
• Communicate progress of key tasks to clients regularly.
• Provide advice on property‑management issues and support the Estates Lead with contractual reporting.
• Perform basic transactional activities such as licence renewals, car‑parking acquisitions, and internal transfer agreements.
• Record minutes and actions during monthly client meetings and support the Estates Helpdesk with lease interpretation.

Requirements

• Minimum five GCSEs (A*‑C), including Maths and English.
• At least one year of commercial property experience; RICS‑accredited degree preferred.
• Good computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to learn new software quickly.
• Understanding of lease terms, property finance and accounting.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to interact with clients at all levels.
• Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
• Proactive, initiative‑taking and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
