The Health, Environment, and Safety (HSE) Trainer is tasked with developing and delivering training programs on diverse safety topics to employees and contractors. The role involves conducting training needs assessments, creating or updating materials, and maintaining records to ensure compliance with Strike and agency regulations while promoting a safe work environment.
The trainer maintains detailed training records, tracks employee progress, and generates monthly reports or audits as needed. Coordination with OQ supervisors, training leads, and HSE leadership ensures that specific client or third‑party requirements are met, and the trainer stays current with industry safety standards and best practices.
Working with HSE Specialists and Operations teams, the trainer conducts sessions through workshops, facilitation, and various delivery methods for new hires, existing staff, and contractors. Strong verbal and written communication skills are used to convey safety concepts, educate employees on their responsibilities, and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced setting.
Travel is required to deliver training, workshops, or facilitation at multiple locations and states, supporting a strong safety culture and morale. The trainer also works with operations to identify safety training needs, provides guidance on best practices, and assists with workplace incidents and investigations.
Candidates must have at least five years of experience in construction or related industries, knowledge of HSE training for pipelines, facilities, or maintenance, and a high school diploma (bilingual preferred). Required certifications include First Aid/CPR/AED, OSHA 10 or 30 (OSHA 500 preferred), and proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Core competencies include problem‑solving, decision‑making aligned with Strike’s HSE standards, strong organizational and detail‑oriented skills for developing training materials, and interpersonal abilities to engage employees, contractors, vendors, and emergency personnel professionally. Physical demands involve outdoor work, long days, occasional lifting of 10 lb, and adequate vision capabilities.
