Senior Electrical Designer (Power Projects)

Design power plant electrical systems using CAD and oversee detailed engineering.
Works independently in the preparation of 3-D CAD design model under the supervision of experienced designers. Assists in constructing detailed models and participates in client model reviews.
Works with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technical requirements.
Reviews calculations, design models, drawings and design documents prepared by others in the group and by material suppliers, as assigned.
Prepares bulk material quantity takeoffs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline.
Generates 2-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) plant layouts and drawings using MicroStation / Smart Sketch from detailed design 3-D CAD model with minimal guidance from others.
Prepares design calculations as applicable, to be used in the discipline.
Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
Answers questions from client or construction group on design for assigned responsibility.
Extraction and preparation of material quantity take-offs from design drawings.

Knowledge of electrical physical design related to equipment like Gas Turbines, HRSG, Cooling Towers, IPBD Layouts.
Familiarity with relevant design standards and guides, Skill in reading, interpreting, and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups.
Knowledge and understanding of Raceway, lighting, grounding design and modelling, cable sizing.
Min. 10 Years of experience, specialized courses in drafting, design and engineering practices, and CAD, or a recognized diploma.
Proficient in S3D modelling – Equipment modelling, Raceway, Grounding and lighting.
Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to the discipline’s design responsibilities.

Skill in leading the technical work of less experienced designers and/or drafters who share in the design effort.
