This senior‑level specialist provides advanced clerical and administrative support to departmental managers, coordinating daily operations, recording data, and generating reports. The role requires minimal supervision and handles complex tasks, resolving most questions and escalating only the most complex issues.
Key responsibilities include managing parts purchasing and inventory control, maintaining minimum and maximum stock levels, administering purchase order requisitions with SOX compliance, and reconciling fleet purchases. The specialist also prepares month‑end reports, assists with safety and operational issue resolution, generates department reports, and utilizes software tools for procurement, time‑keeping, safety incidents, and contract labor. Additional duties involve data collection for incentive programs, processing payments, supporting operational projects, and communicating scheduling information to employees.
The position works Monday‑Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with Saturday as needed. Preferred candidates are comfortable working outdoors or in a shop exposed to weather, loud noises, and strong odors, have experience with purchase orders and inventory, possess knowledge of automotive/mechanical parts, and demonstrate strong organizational and computer skills. They must be self‑motivated, hold a valid driver’s license, and be able to work independently.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least three years of relevant experience in a comparable role. Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office is required. No specific certifications or licenses beyond a driver’s license are necessary.
The position may require travel by air or access to federal property, so candidates must possess a REAL ID or an acceptable alternative. WM emphasizes a people‑first culture, investing in employee growth, stability, and a sustainable future.
The role is performed in an office setting and may also involve work at landfill or outdoor locations. The base pay range is $22‑$26 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, a stock purchase plan, 401(k) match, paid vacation, holidays, and personal days.
