- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical experience.
- Mechanical system commissioning experience; certification preferred or obtainable within 6 months.
- Business development experience and Professional Engineering license are a plus.
- Proficient in HVAC sequence of operation design review and creating/testing mechanical system procedures in the field.
- Knowledge of HVAC control systems (e.g., JCI, Trane, Automated Logic, Siemens) and ability to manipulate, adjust, and test them.
- Working knowledge of HVAC chilled water and DX systems, including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, AHUs, RTUs, ERUs, VAVs, exhaust fans, and FCUs.
- Experience with air and water test‑and‑balance processes and ability to review TAB reports for issues.
- Field experience gathering data at client facilities to test mechanical systems.
- Ability to create mechanical system installation and testing documentation.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements and ability to identify deficiencies.
- Understanding of mechanical codes and ability to make intuitive decisions related to them.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans and specifications.
- Capability to work safely around electrical systems up to 600 V.
- Strong communication skills with clients, construction trades, and design professionals.
- High attention to detail, abstract reasoning, assertiveness, and thoroughness.
- Flexibility to work varied hours and in hot or cold environments; ability to climb stairs, ladders, operate lift trucks, and perform moderate lifting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Willingness to travel approximately 25 % of the time.
Benefits
The projected salary range for this role is $113,000–$145,000 annually, with variations possible based on skills, experience, location, and market conditions.
