The Compliance Fuel Technician performs duties related to fuel systems integrity testing, handling petroleum support work orders at retail, commercial, and private fueling facilities, and sharing test results with company partners and customers quickly and accurately.
The role includes preparing sites for testing, setting up testing and safety equipment, removing manhole lids to access underground storage tanks, driving a DOT‑registered commercial motor vehicle, and conducting fuel containment, equipment integrity, and leak‑detection tests to ensure compliance and prevent future leaks.
Candidates must pass a company‑paid DOT physical and drug screen, maintain a clean driving record, have a mechanical background with hand‑tool experience, be physically capable of lifting 10‑50 lb and performing kneeling, bending, reaching, and standing tasks, work independently, communicate effectively, and possess basic technology skills for documentation.
Light travel is required, with occasional overnight stays; hotels and a generous per‑diem are provided.
Compensation consists of an $18.00 hourly rate, an average of 12‑15 hours of overtime per week paid at time and a half, and a $50 per‑day per diem that is added directly to the weekly paycheck tax‑free.
Veterans can join a two‑year VA On‑The‑Job Training program that offers vocational training, a monthly VA stipend, and eligibility for the GI Bill to aid in transitioning to civilian employment.
